How it works
- Open your wishlist and tap Say thank you in the menu.
- Choose a photo — of the party or the gifts, for example (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB). The photo is optional.
- Write your text — a few sentences are plenty, 500 characters at most.
- Pick a layout: Classic (photo on top, text below), Card (the photo like a Polaroid on a coloured background) or Full screen (the photo fills the space, the text sits on top). The colours come from your list’s design.
- Check the preview and tap Publish.
You write the text yourself — we do not suggest one.
When can I do this? Any time, even before the party. From the day of your event, a note on your list reminds you. A day after the event we also send you, as the owner of the list, one short email — but only if at least one guest left an email address (on a surprise list even without guests, then without the number), you have not published a thank-you yet and you have not switched notifications off. Co-owners do not get this email.
What happens after you publish?
On your list: anyone who opens your link sees your thank-you first — with your text, your photo if you added one, and a little confetti. Underneath it says View the wishlist: that takes your guests on to the list, where they can still reserve.
By email: every guest who left an email address while reserving or contributing gets one short email with your text, your photo (if you added one) and a button to your thank-you. Each person gets one email, even if they took on several wishes.
To share: Share sends the link to your list, to your WhatsApp group for example. If you added a photo, the preview in the chat shows it with “Thank you!”. That way you reach guests without an email address too.
Who gets an email?
- Everyone who reserved or contributed something and left an email address. The address is optional when reserving — not everyone leaves one.
- A money contribution counts as soon as it has been reported or has come in. Donations do not count.
- You and your co-owners get no email.
- Anyone who reserves after the emails to your guests have gone out gets no email — but sees your thank-you on the list.
Common questions
Can I change my thank-you later?
Yes. Your list then shows the card Your thank-you is live, with Edit and Remove. Change the text, photo and layout whenever you like and tap Save changes. If you remove your thank-you, your link shows the normal list again. No second email goes out.
Do I have to upload a photo?
No. Without a photo your thank-you shows your list’s banner or a surface in your list’s colours.
Is my thank-you checked?
Yes. Before your thank-you goes live, we check the photo and the text automatically for content that is not allowed. If something is not right, we tell you and nothing is published. Please make sure everyone in the photo is happy for it to be used.
What about surprise mode?
You can still say thank you without switching surprise mode off. You still do not see who gave what — nor how many guests get the email. The email goes to your guests all the same.
Can I write a separate message to each guest?
No. There is one thank-you for everyone. If you want to thank someone personally, it is best to write to them directly.
Can I take back an email that has gone out?
No. Once an email is out, it is out. That is why you see a preview before you publish. Your thank-you on the list, though, you can change or remove at any time.
Can my co-owner say thank you?
Yes. Co-owners can write, change and remove the thank-you too.
Does this work for every wishlist?
For almost every one: birthday, wedding, baby shower, office and team, and more — with or without an event date. Creator pages do not have it.
