Change your password

Here’s how to change your password — or why you don’t need to if you signed in with Google.

If you signed up with an email address and password

Then you can change your password whenever you like.

How to change it

1. Open your profile: tap your picture, then Profile
2. Go to the Security tab
3. Fill in the three fields:
   • Current password — the one you have now
   • New password
   • Confirm — the new one again
4. Save

What a password has to have

Requirement	Detail
Length	At least 8 characters
Lowercase letter	At least one
Uppercase letter	At least one
Number	At least one
Not a known one	Passwords that have turned up in known data breaches are refused

If you signed in with Google

If you registered with Sign in with Google, you don’t have a separate Wishlist.de password.

What that means

• You always sign in through Google
• Your Google password protects your account
• There’s nothing here to change

How to tell

On the Security tab you’ll see that your account is connected to Google, and that changing a password isn’t available.

Changing your Google password

Do that at Google:

1. Go to myaccount.google.com
2. Open Security
3. Choose Password
4. Change it there

With email and password

1. Go to the sign-in page
2. Tap Forgot your password?
3. Enter your email address
4. We send you an email with a link
5. Follow it and set a new password

With Google

Use Google’s own account recovery at accounts.google.com.

Common questions

I can’t find the option to change my password

Then you probably signed in with Google. Check the Security tab — it will say your account is connected to Google.

Can I switch from Google to email and password?

No, the sign-in method can’t be changed. You would have to create a new account with an email address.

How strong should my password be?

Use one you don’t use anywhere else. A password manager makes that painless.

Do I have to sign in again afterward?

No, you stay signed in.
