Add a product by pasting its link

The classic route: copy the link to the product, paste it into Wishlist.de.

Quicker: the wish button does it in one click — it opens the new-wish form in a Wishlist.de tab with the shop address already filled in.

How it works

1. Find the product in the shop Open Amazon, Otto, Zalando or wherever the thing is

2. Copy the link Copy the address out of your browser’s address bar, Ctrl+C or Cmd+C

3. Paste it into Wishlist.de

   • Open your wishlist
   • Tap + Add
   • Paste the link into the URL field, Ctrl+V or Cmd+V. You don’t pick a kind of wish — we work that out from the shop.

4. Check it and send it If the shop lets us read it, the name, the price and the image are already in the form. If it doesn’t, the link stands there alone and you fill in the rest. Either way you can carry on. The wish is only created once you send the form.

Which shops work

You can paste a link from any shop. Most of them we can read:

German shops:

Just try it. Most shops are recognized. When one isn’t, you type the details in yourself.

Use the product page, not a search

Link to the product page, not to a search result or a category listing.

Not ideal: https://www.amazon.de/s?k=headphones

Pick the variant first

If a product comes in colors or sizes, choose the one you want before you copy the link.

That way your friends see exactly which version you’re after.

Shorten Amazon links

Amazon links get long. You can cut them down to https://www.amazon.de/dp/PRODUCTID.

The product ID is the part of the address right after /dp/.

When something goes wrong

The product isn’t recognized

Sometimes a shop can’t be read. Then:

1. Fill it in yourself — type the name and the price
2. Upload an image — your own picture of the product
3. Try a different link — the product page itself often works where a search result doesn’t

The price is wrong

Prices move. You can:

• Correct the price by hand
• Update it again later

The wrong image

You can upload your own image at any time:

1. Edit the wish
2. Tap the image
3. Upload a new one

Common questions

Do prices update by themselves?

No. The price is captured once, when you add the wish. You can update it by hand whenever you like.

What if the product sells out?

The wish stays on your list and the link still goes to the shop. We don’t check whether it’s still in stock — your friends find that out in the shop itself.

Can I change the link afterward?

Yes. Open Edit and put in a different link.

Does it work with links from shopping apps?

Yes. In the Amazon app, for instance, use Share to copy the link, then paste it into Wishlist.de.
