The Next Steps panel

As the owner, you see a panel at the top of your wishlist called Next Steps. It tells you what would help your list most right now, so you don’t have to remember what’s still missing.

What it suggests

The suggestions follow the state of your list. You’ll see things like:

• Add a few more wishes — while the list is still short
• Set up a payment method — so guests can contribute directly; on occasions where money is usual, such as a creator page or a farewell, it shows from the start
• Add a description — on a public list, so visitors know what it is about
• Invite a co-owner — on the occasions where it fits, such as a wedding, a baby or a team list
• Share your list — while the list is still short; once it has a few wishes a share banner takes over

At most three suggestions show at a time.

Good to know

• Only you and a co-owner see the panel. Guests never do.
• The panel appears once your list has a wish on it, not on a completely empty list.
• Finished steps disappear on their own. The panel notices, for example, when your list gets its first reservation.
• Most suggestions can be dismissed with the ×, and a dismissed one stays gone. Add a few more wishes is the exception you will actually meet: you cannot dismiss it, and it stays until your list has three. A short list is the one thing the panel keeps pointing at.
• Once everything is done, the panel disappears completely — the payment step included, as soon as a usable payment method is in place. On a creator page you just cannot dismiss that step while it is still open, because the page exists to receive money.
