Add a co-owner to your wishlist
Run a wishlist together with one other person — ideal for couples planning a wedding or for two colleagues organizing an office gift.
A co-owner runs the wishlist alongside you. One invitation by email, and you are two.
What a co-owner may do
Almost everything you may do:
- Add wishes, edit them, delete them
- Change the settings
- Run the list day to day
Deleting the list stays with you alone. Removing a co-owner is almost yours: your co-owner cannot remove you, but they can step down themselves. And in surprise mode a co-owner sees more than you do — more on that below.
Where people use it:
- Wedding lists, one for each partner
- Baby showers, one for each parent
- A shared birthday
Inviting a co-owner
While you create the list
On a Wedding list the field for your partner appears by itself:
- Type your partner’s email address
- Create the list
Your partner gets an invitation by email and can run the list as soon as they accept.
On any other occasion
The same field is in the form, open, nothing to unfold. A creator page is the exception — it has no co-owner at all.
- Type the email address into the field
- Create or save the list
Afterwards
- Open your wishlist
- Go to the Settings tab
- Type the email address in the co-owner section
- Press Invite
What your co-owner can and cannot do

Only the person who created the list can delete it. A co-owner can step down at any time, but cannot remove the other organizer.
Co-owners and surprise mode
This matters: surprise mode applies to the owner, never to the co-owner.
So when you turn surprise mode on, you stop seeing reservations — and your co-owner keeps seeing all of them and can keep things coordinated.
And that goes beyond convenience. On a surprise list the notification emails about reservations, and the thank-you email too, go to your co-owner instead of you. With no co-owner, nobody gets them. Anyone who wants to be surprised needs somebody keeping an eye on the list.

Removing a co-owner
As the person who created the list:
- Open the wishlist
- Go to the Settings tab
- Press Remove co-owner and confirm
Access to managing the list goes immediately. They can still open the list as an ordinary visitor, as long as it is not private.
Your co-owner finds the same control and can use it to step down. What they cannot do is remove you.
Common questions
Does a co-owner need an account?
Yes. A co-owner needs an account on Wishlist.de. If there is none yet, the invitation asks them to create one.
Can I have more than one co-owner?
For now, one co-owner per list.
What if my co-owner never accepts?
The invitation stays open. You keep using the list as normal, and it can still be accepted later.
Do I see what my co-owner changes?
Who edited which wish is not recorded. Cancellations and everything marked as received do show up in the Activity tab, which you both see.
