Archive or delete a wishlist
Archiving parks a list and keeps everything; deleting gives you 30 days to change your mind. What each one does, and who is allowed to do it.
Once the occasion has passed you may not need the wishlist any more. You can archive it or delete it.
Archiving vs. deleting
| Archive | Delete | |
|---|---|---|
| What happens | The list is greyed out | The list goes away |
| Reversible | ✅ Any time | For 30 days, then no |
| What stays | ✅ Everything | 30 days in the trash, then the images go and the names are replaced |
| Who can | Owner and co-owner | Owner only |
Our advice: archive rather than delete, in case you want the list again later.
Archiving a list
An archived list stays where it is, marked as finished.
How to archive
- Open your wishlist
- Go to the Settings tab
- Open the Danger zone at the bottom
- Tap Archive
What archiving does
- The list is greyed out on your dashboard
- Visitors can still open it through the link
- No new reservations are possible — visitors see a note saying the list is archived
- You can restore it any time, and reservations work again
Restoring a list
- Open the archived list
- Go to the Settings tab
- Open the Danger zone
- Tap Restore
The list is live again immediately.
Deleting a list
Deleting puts the list in the trash. It sits there for 30 days, and during that time you can bring it back. After that we delete the images and replace the recipient’s name — and the title too, unless it is a creator page, where the handle in it was public anyway. The greeting text, the thank-you text, your supporter page settings and your custom link all go.
How to delete
- Open your wishlist
- Go to the Settings tab
- Open the Danger zone
- Tap Delete wishlist
- Confirm
What disappears afterward
- The wishlist can no longer be reached through its link
- The images of the list and of every wish are deleted from storage
- The recipient’s name is replaced with a placeholder, and the title too on every list except a creator page
- The greeting text, the thank-you text, your supporter page settings and your custom link go
- Reservations and chat messages can’t be opened by anyone any more
After the 30 days this can’t be undone.
Who is allowed to delete?
Only the person who created the list. A co-owner can archive, but not delete.

When to archive
Archive when:
- The occasion is over
- You want the list off your active dashboard
- You might still want the data later
- You aren’t completely sure
Delete when:
- You genuinely don’t need any of it
- It was a test list
- You’re sure nobody needs to reach it again
Common questions
Can visitors still see an archived list?
Yes, the share link keeps working. Visitors see a note saying the list is archived, and they can’t reserve or contribute any more.
Can I archive several lists at once?
No, each list has to be archived on its own for now.
What happens to the reservations when I delete?
They go into the trash with the list, and your guests lose access to their reservation. The row itself stays afterward, including the name the guest gave when reserving. Anyone with an account of their own who deletes that account disappears from those rows too.
Are deleted lists really deleted?
Not entirely. For 30 days the list sits in the trash and can be brought back. After that we delete the images and replace the recipient’s name, and the title on every list except a creator page. The reservation and activity rows stay: payment and activity records fall under statutory retention periods in Germany. Addresses are never involved — we don’t ask for any.
Can my co-owner delete the list if I’m not around?
No, only the person who created it can delete. If you want someone else to take a list over, get in touch through the contact form.
