Why the target amount says “about”
When a product is priced in another currency, Wishlist.de converts it once and marks the result as approximate. Here’s why, and how to override it.
Some products are priced in a different currency — a US product on a wishlist that runs in euros, for instance. So that your guests can still give a sensible amount, Wishlist.de suggests a target amount in your wishlist’s own currency.
What the “≈” means
We convert the shop price once, using the European Central Bank’s daily reference rate. The figure you see is an estimate, not a binding rate and not one we keep updating.
≈ means “about”. The real price or the real rate may move later; the target amount on your wishlist stays where it is.
Can I change the target amount?
Yes. As the organizer you can replace the suggestion in the Target amount field with your own figure — the field carries your list’s currency, so euros or Swiss francs. Whatever you type wins over the automatic conversion.
The converted figure is there for orientation only. What a product actually costs, and what a currency conversion actually costs on top, is between the shop or the payment provider and whoever is paying.
