Chipping in needs a PayPal account only if PayPal is the way you set up; with Stripe they need none, and without online payment they just pledge and settle up with you directly. Only you need an account, to manage your list.
Is Wishlist.de really free?
Yes. Creating, sharing and managing wishlists is free. There’s no subscription and you don’t need a credit card.
Does it work with Amazon and other shops?
Yes. Add wishes from any shop by link — Amazon, Otto, Zalando or the store down the street. Whatever the shop lets us read fills itself in, usually name, price and picture; the rest you add yourself.
Does Wishlist.de ship the gifts?
No. Wishlist.de is a wishlist, not a shop. Your guests reserve, buy the gift themselves and bring it along or hand it over in person.
Can I see who reserved what?
That’s up to you. In surprise mode, reservations stay hidden from you — your guests still see them, so they can avoid duplicates.
How do I get cash gifts?
It’s optional. Turn it on and pick how the money reaches you: PayPal, payments through Stripe, or nothing online — then your guests settle it with you directly. Whichever you pick, it goes straight to you, and we never touch your money.
What happens to my data?
Your wishlists, reservations and account data live on servers in Germany, and we only ask for what we really need — no addresses, no card or bank details. The payment and statistics providers named in our privacy policy process some data outside the EU. You can delete your list at any time.
